How to apply the Focus3D firmware update
=========================================
Important: The update may take up to 1 hour.
The update must not be interrupted or the update may not work.
It is best to use a fully charged battery and have the scanner on mains operation at the same time. Then even a power outage doesn’t interrupt the update.
The update consists of two packages:
F0023_Focus3D_System_Update_RevXXX.zip
F0022_Focus3D_Collective_Update_RevXXXXX.zip
Download links:
F0023_Focus3D_System_Update_Rev028.zip
F0022_Focus3D_Collective_Update_Rev25012.zip
Please make sure to install these two packages in the described sequence. The scanner will not work when one part is missing.
In order to transfer the update to the scanner, take the scanner’s SD card out of the scanner and put it into your PC.
– Open the SD card with the Windows Explorer. On the top level, there are at least 2 folders named “Preview” and “Scans”.
– You may also have a folder “Updates” there. If it exists, please delete it.
– Create a folder “Updates” on this top level. Please note the capital “U” and the lower case “pdates”.
– Please make sure that you don’t use the existing “Updates” folder. It is essential that you create a new one.
– Copy “F0023_Focus3D_System_Update_RevXXX” into the “Updates” folder.
– Rename it to “firmware.LsSetup”
– Put the SD card into the scanner.
– On the scanner GUI, select Manage->Service->Firmware Update
– Press the “Update” button
– The update will now take 5-10 minutes. Then the screen will go white, and the ordinary scanner menu will reappear after reboot.
– Take the SD card out of the scanner, and put it into your computer.
– Look into the updates folder. There should be now a file named “systemupdate_result_YYYYMMDD_XXX.txt”.
– Examine this file. It should end with the phrase “System Update successful.”
– Delete the “Updates” folder and re-create it before copying any file.
– Unpack/Upzip “F0022_Focus3D_Collective_Update_RevXXXXX.zip” into the “Updates” folder of the SD card.
– In the “Updates” folder of the SD card, there should now be a file called “firmware.LsSetup”, and a folder named “videos”
– Put the SD card into the scanner and select Manage->Service->Firmware update
– Press the “Update” button
– This time it will take approx. 20-30 minutes. If it takes much less time, you should repeat all steps for this second file.
The update is now complete. Please restart the scanner.
